Error 81000301: You cannot sign in to Windows Live Messenger

Error 81000301 - You may not be able to sign in because of problems with your proxy settings or the DNS (Domain name server) cache. Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by visiting another website. If you are unable to connect to the Internet, you'll need to verify your Internet Explorer proxy configuration settings. Contact your ISP (Internet service provider. A company that provides access to the Internet) or network administrator (The person who manages a network of computers, and has the ability to change network settings and manage user accounts) to determine the correct settings. Once you're able to connect to the Internet, you can troubleshoot the DNS cache:

Make sure you can connect to Windows Live Messenger
Go to the MSN Web Messenger website and sign in. If you can sign in to MSN Web Messenger, but Windows Live Messenger still can't access the Internet, Windows Live Messenger may be blocked by a firewall.
Make sure your antivirus or antispyware programs don't conflict with Messenger.

Error 81000306: You cannot sign in to Windows Live Messenger

Error Code 81000306 - You may not be able to sign in because of one of several problems, such as your proxy settings, the DNS cache, or a firewall (A security feature designed to help protect a computer from unauthorized external access. It can be hardware, software, or both) . To troubleshoot the problem:
Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by visiting another website.

Clear the Windows Live Messenger proxy settings
Start Messenger.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Under Connection, click Advanced Settings.
Delete the entries under SOCKS.
Click OK, and then click OK again.

If your computer is running Windows XP, clear the DNS resolver cache
On the taskbar, click Start, and then click Run.

Unable to sign into Windows Live Messenger Error 80004005

A few people are getting a funny little error when they try to sign in to Messenger. It seems to be happening most often to those who have been upgrading regularly, something is getting mixed when you've had various versions on the same computer.

No fear! It's SO not a big deal - just follow the steps below, provided by our support team (don't you with there was a support team to solve every error in life? )

If you are encountering error 80004005 when signing in, please try the following:

I. Verify if you have the latest version of Windows Live Messenger by clicking on Help-->About Messenger and reading the Build number. You should see "Build 8.0.0792.00"

II. If you see any other number listed there, install the latest version of Messenger from http://get.live.com/messenger/overview .

III. Attempt to sign into Messenger again.

If you are still unable to sign in:

IV. Change Windows Explorer settings

a. Right click on the "Start" button and choose "Explore" from the short-cut menu to

open the "Windows Explorer" window.

Hi, World O’ Messenger! As this is my first post, I thought I would preface it by saying that I am very happy to be here and that I think Messenger is a spiffy peachy keen app (grin) that kicks spiffy peachy keen butt (grins again). That being said, I will move on to the topic of today’s post: Offline Instant Messages (applause appreciated).
